献给土著民族的颂歌
   ――为联合国世界土著人年而写

歌颂您
就是歌颂土地
就是歌颂土地上的河流
以及那些数不清的属于人类的居所

理解你
就是理解生命
就是理解生殖和繁衍的缘由
谁知道有多少不知名的种族
曾在这个大地上生活

怜悯你
就是怜悯我们自己
就是怜悯我们共同的痛苦和悲伤
有人看见我们骑着马
最后消失在所谓文明的城市中

抚摸你
就是抚摸人类的良心
就是抚摸人类美好和罪恶的天平
多少个世纪以来，历史已经证明
土著民族所遭受的迫害是最为残暴的

祝福你
就是祝福玉米，祝福荞麦，祝福土豆
就是祝福那些世界上最古老的粮食
为此我们没有理由不把母亲所给予的生命和梦想
毫无保留地献给人类的和平、自由与公正

Extolling you
means extolling the land
means extolling the rivers and
countless dwelling places of mankind on the land

Understanding you
means understanding life
means understanding the reason of reproduction and multiplication
Who knows how many unknown races
Have lived on the earth

Taking pity on you
Means taking pity on ourselves
means taking pity on our common pain and sadness
We are seen fading away on horses
in the so-called urban civilization

Caressing you
means caressing the conscience of human being
means caressing the balance to judge fine things and evils of mankind
History has proved for many centuries
that aboriginal nations always suffer the most ruthless persecution

Blessing you
means blessing maize, buckwheat and potato
means blessing the primary food in the world
so we have no reason not to give all our lives
and dreams the Mother bestowed upon us
for peace, freedom and justice of mankind
